Make a positive influence on your community
If you're the kind of person who knows everyone and always has the pulse on trends and what's going on in your social circle, our Community Influencer Program might be for you.
We're looking for a few special people to help launch Frenting in their neighborhood, building, workplace, church, group, or local community.
We believe communities work better when people share more and waste less.
And we're looking for the kind of people who naturally bring others together to help make that happen.
What is Frenting?
Frenting is a new app where people rent, share, and borrow useful things from friends and neighbors instead of everyone buying everything themselves.
- Tools
- Kid stuff
- Outdoor gear
- Sports equipment
- Extra space
- Travel gear
- Event supplies
- And more
What is a Community Influencer?
Not an online influencer.
Not a salesperson.
We're looking for real-world connectors — the person who:
- hosts gatherings
- knows everybody in the building
- organizes things at work
- introduces neighbors to each other
- starts trends in their friend group
- helps bring people together
As a Frenting Community Influencer, your job is simple: help people discover and start using Frenting in your community.

How It Works
Three simple steps to launch Frenting in your community and start earning.
You Invite People You Know
Talk about Frenting in your neighborhood, workplace, church, building, or community group. Invite people you know—or meet locally—to check out the app and join your circle. No scripts, no cold calling, and no heavy pressure. Just real conversations with people who already know and trust you.
Host a Community Launch Gathering
One of the fastest ways to get a community using Frenting is bringing people together in real life. We'll help support a simple launch gathering with Q&A, onboarding assistance, snacks, drinks, giveaways, and prizes. You bring the people—we'll help make it fun and easy.
Get People Using Frenting
Encourage community members to create listings, browse what's available, and complete their first rentals or shares. Once people experience Frenting for themselves, the community begins to grow naturally as members add their own items and invite others to join.
Referral Commissions
Earn cash for real activity
Per Referral
When a new local user you refer signs up and joins your circle or becomes your friend
When that user creates a complete listing (with photo and description)
When that user completes a paid booking of $20 or more
Bonuses for Momentum
When you refer another Community Influencer who is accepted into the program
Bonus — When 5 different people you referred each complete a paid booking
Bonus — When 10 different people you referred each complete a paid booking
The pilot period will run until Sept. 1, 2026. No caps on earnings during the pilot period.
Is this a good fit for you?
Great fit if you:
- Know a lot of people in your group, workplace, church, or neighborhood
- Like meeting new people
- Enjoy bringing people together
- Want flexible side income
- Like the idea of helping people share instead of buying everything themselves
Probably not a fit if you:
- Are looking for a full-time job
- Want something fully remote with no local interaction
- Are not a people person
We believe that living a rich life shouldn't require ownership.

What is Frenting?
Frenting is a private platform where people can share or rent things with neighbors, friends, and trusted communities.
- Some items are shared for free
- Some are rented for a small fee
- Some people use it mostly for borrowing
- Others use it to help offset costs of expensive purchases
Frenting works best when it starts with people who already have some level of trust or shared connection with each other. That's why we're launching community by community.
Why we created Frenting
We believe:
- Sharing useful things creates real-world connection
- Communities become stronger when people rely on each other more
- People don't actually need to own everything they want to use
- Buying less stuff is better for the environment
Something interesting happens when people start sharing practical things:
- A borrowed cooler becomes a conversation.
- A shared grill becomes a cookout with neighbors.
- A loaned folding table becomes a birthday party invitation.
- A rented e-bike becomes a hangout with a friend across town.
Because online tools should support relationships and real human connection — not replace them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost anything to join Frenting or be part of a circle?
No. Frenting is free to join.
For paid bookings, Frenting charges a 5% service fee to the owner and a 3% service fee to the renter. So if you rent your kayak for $5, you'll make $4.75 and we'll make 40 cents. If you share something for free, there is no fee.
Do I need to be a salesperson?
Absolutely not.
We're looking for connectors, not salespeople. Community Influencers help introduce Frenting to people they already know and trust. Most of the role involves having conversations, answering questions, and helping people get started.
No sales experience needed. No cold calling. No scripts. No strangers. No sales quotas.
What support will I get from Frenting?
We're here to support you every step of the way! When you get accepted, we'll provide a Community Influencer Playbook, marketing materials, and as much coaching as you would like to get started. If you or your people have questions, we've got answers!
We'll even co-host the launch gathering with you and supply the basics (a table, marketing materials, snacks, drinks, and even giveaways and prizes). One of our Frenting specialists will attend to help answer questions and get people excited about joining your group.
Do I have to have listings of my own to share or rent?
Not necessarily. Frenting works best when you sign up a new user and there are things for them to rent or borrow available in your group. If you don't have any items or space to rent or share, that doesn't mean you can't start a circle. You may just have slower growth.
Depending on where your circle is located, there may or may not be Frenting-owned items that you can list to get you started. Or you may want to consider our Community Sharing Program instead of the Influencer Program.
How much time does this take?
That depends on how active you want to be.
Some Community Influencers may spend as little as an hour a week introducing Frenting to friends and neighbors. Others may organize multiple launch gatherings, spend time networking in local groups, or help growth by helping people take photos and doing one-on-one onboarding.
You can participate at whatever level fits your schedule. The more active you are, the more cash you can make!
Do I need a large social network?
What kinds of communities are a good fit?
Almost any group of people who already know each other can be a great fit, including:
- Apartment buildings
- Neighborhoods
- Churches
- Parent groups
- Friend groups
- Community organizations
- Clubs and hobby groups
- Coworkers
If people already share some level of trust or connection, Frenting can work.
How do I get paid?
After you are accepted to the program, you'll fill out a standard W-9 form. Commissions are tallied up at the end of the month and typically paid by the 5th of the next month. Booking commissions are paid after bookings are completed.
Community Influencers earn referral commissions when the people they introduce become active on Frenting. You can earn commissions for:
- New user signups
- Listings created
- Completed bookings
- Community growth milestones
- Referring other Community Influencers
What if nobody rents anything right away?
What counts as a local new user for my commission?
In order to share and rent physical items, your community needs to be located in the same area.
That's why a new user has to be someone located within 25 miles of your location. They need to verify their email address and become your friend and/or join your circle.
Existing Frenting members do not count toward your commissions. People outside of your geographic area do not count. But if you know folks in other communities who may be a good fit for our Community Influencer program, you'll earn $25 for everyone you refer who gets accepted to the program.
How do you track my users and activity?
What if I'm not very technical?
Do I have to host a launch event?
Is there a limit to how much I can earn?
How long is the pilot phase?
Why are you paying Community Influencers?
Frenting only works when people who know each other are all using the app together. Instead of spending all of our budget on advertising, we'd rather reward local people who help introduce Frenting to friends, neighbors, coworkers, and community members.
This is NOT a pyramid scheme or MLM.
Community Influencers are not required to buy anything, pay membership fees, recruit other influencers, or build a "downline." You earn rewards for helping real people join Frenting, create listings, and complete actual bookings. Think of it more like a referral or ambassador program than a sales organization. Our goal is simple: help communities discover Frenting and start sharing useful things with each other.
What happens after my community launches?
Once people start using Frenting, communities often begin growing naturally. Members add their own listings, invite friends, create new circles, and continue sharing with each other long after the initial launch. The more listings your community creates, the more value everyone will get from being a part of the community. And the more value they see, the stronger the growth.
You'll earn commissions through the pilot period, which runs until Sept. 1, 2026. After that date, we hope you and your community will continue to enjoy the benefits of Frenting!
Is this a part-time job?
No. If you are accepted into the Community Influencer Program, you will work as a 1099 contractor – not as an employee. Upon acceptance, you fill out a standard W-9 form. If you earn more than $600 in one year, you will be issued a 1099 in January.
You make your schedule and decide your time commitment and activity level. The more active you are, the more you earn. But this is a casual, low-pressure, no-quotas opportunity. The only real requirement is to host a local launch gathering with our support.
The pilot lasts until Sept. 1, 2026. There is no ongoing requirement to use the app or do any additional community organizing after that date.
Do I need to be a social media influencer to participate?
Definitely not. Frenting is focused on community-by-community growth, rather than random online signups … because Frenting only works when a group of people who live physically close to each other are all using the app together.
You are welcome to use your social media channels to spread the word about Frenting – especially in local Facebook groups and Nextdoor groups. But there are no requirements to post, comment, like, or share anything on social media.
If you have a huge online presence with a national following, please ask us about our Online Influencer Program opportunities! We'd love to chat!
